Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-10. Found Ground Labs LLC, an Ohio limited liability company ("we", "us"), makes First Rise (the "app"). By making an account or using the app you agree to these terms.
1. Who can use First Rise
You must be at least 18 years old. One account is for one person; keep your password to yourself.
2. Hunting only where you're allowed
- Private land, with the owner's permission, only. A field being on the map, ranked, or described in the app does not mean you may enter it. Entering land without permission is trespassing, and you alone are responsible for getting permission and following the owner's conditions.
- Surface collecting only, and only where it's legal. You agree to follow every federal, state and local law about artifacts and land. Never collect on public land (federal, state, county or city land, parks, wildlife areas, cemeteries) without the permits the law requires. Never disturb burials, mounds or human remains. Some states (for example Indiana) require state approval to dig for artifacts even on private land.
- Be respectful. Close gates, stay out of crops, and leave when asked.
3. Landowner information
Owner names and mailing addresses in the app come from public county and state property records. You may use them only to ask an owner for permission to walk their land, with the app's letters or your own polite request. You may not use them to harass anyone, to market or sell anything, or for any other purpose, and you may not copy, collect or share the owner information in bulk.
4. What the scores mean
Field scores, LiDAR pictures, "hot spots" and the flint guide are estimates made by a computer from public maps and data. They can be wrong, out of date or incomplete. They are not a promise that anything will be found, and they are not legal, survey or property-line information. Property lines shown are approximate.
5. Free trial and subscriptions
New accounts get a free trial of every feature for the number of days shown when you sign up. After it, some features need a paid subscription, at the price shown before you pay. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel; you can cancel any time, and it ends at the close of the period you paid for. Payments are handled by our payment processor. If you're unhappy in your first 14 days of paying, email us and we'll refund that payment.
6. Your things in the app
Your stars, notes, finds, photos and letter details are yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to you, and to use anonymous, combined statistics to improve the app. We don't sell your information; see the Privacy Policy.
7. Things you may not do
- Copy, scrape or download the app's data in bulk, or use robots or scripts on it.
- Resell, share or publish the app's maps, scores or owner information.
- Try to get around the subscription, break the app, or get into other people's accounts.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
8. Safety
Hunting fields means uneven ground, farm equipment, weather, water and animals. You use the app and go into the field at your own risk. Maps and driving directions can be wrong; never use the app while driving.
9. No warranty, and limits on our liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Found Ground Labs LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for anything that happens on any land you visit, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before it.
10. Changes, and the law that applies
We may change these terms. If we make a big change we'll tell you in the app or by email, and using the app after that means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of Ohio, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Delaware County, Ohio.
